Animation

This animation is a view of the both studios showing the actual image of the building sturcture. It goes around the whole model in 360 dgrees. This will help show a clear view of my final model.

Animation

This animation shows a section cut view of the whole model. This will give deeper detail of the studios, showing how it is constructed and what materials are used for different parts.

Animation

This animation shows a movement from ground studio to under ground studio. It shows how it is linked and how the stairs functions.

Final Developed Model

Original section drawings for above and below the ground.

Section drawing with stairs
(I did not include small parts sticking out for the underground because I thought that it did not give strong relationship to the word 'Infinity'.)

Section view

Above ground studio (Tracey Moffat)

Underground Studio (Fiona Hall)

These are images of my final developed studios for Tracey Moffat and Fiona Hall.

The ground studio is for Tracey Moffat and I have composed the studio building in a cube shape to represent the word 'one.' I have changed the shape of the building from rectangular box shape to cube shape, because I thought the cube will represent the word 'one' much better than the rectangular box. The cube shape has equal length for all four sides, where as rectangular box has different length for height and width. The reason I have used the word 'one' was the image of Tracey Moffat's work has shown the sports players supporting each other, which portrays to become as one. I have deleted one person from her actual image to show actual meaning of one, just leaving the image with just one person. This again refers back to the word of 'one.' I have kept the glass which surrounds her studio to give natural mood to the studio, being able to see the life of people each day by looking outside. The other material that I have used for her studio was concrete. The reason I have used concrete was to show the relationship to the ground of the Olympic running track, by having all the outer wall and the floor as concrete gives strong relation to Tracey Moffat's concept idea of sportsmanship from Olympic game in 2000. I have placed the stair in an angle going from bottom of the floor to one side of the wall, and the stairs led us to her concept of work that I have changed that might influence her to produce the actual work of hers. By walking up the stairs it gives closer detailed view of the image that is hanging off from the ceiling. The material that I have used for the stair is also concrete, and the reason for this is to give solid and strong link to each step for the stairs like the strong relationship between the sports players. I have placed some texture on every second step to give volume and texture to the studio, because without this it will look to simple and boring, there will be no creativeness to the studio. Also opposite to the stairs I have filled the one whole wall with texture that I have used for stairs and outside of this building to give texture and to fill the empty space with some details.

The gallery is outside where two artists will meet there. Tracey Moffat comes down to the gallery by the long stairs leading her from her studio to the ground floor. The shape and pattern of the stairs from her studio to the ground floor is same as the stairs inside her studio. The reason I have used same pattern for this is to give balance and harmony to the interior stairs and exterior stairs. And by having same pattern it looks like the stairs are being carried on from the ground floor to the top of the stairs in the studio. On the other hand Fiona Hall comes up from the under ground and I have cut a hole to the ground linking to her studio. The stair from the ground to first step of the stair inside her studio has material of wood. I have used wood as material for this stairs to give harmony to the earth ground of nature atmosphere. I have placed my texture on ground that has been pushed down toward Fiona Hall's Studio. The gallery is in the nature to give natural mood to two artist, since both of their work is related with human life which again relates to the nature of the world.

The studio for Fiona Hall has been further developed from the developed model. The actual shape of her studio has not been changed but I have added semi-sphere but not a perfect semi-sphere shape. The reason I have included this into her studio was to give extended space in her studio to give her further thinking to show her outcome work of 'Understorey.' On the face of that semi-sphere I have filled with an image of dull skull to help to show her final work. The material used for this semi-sphere is concrete to give strong fixed shape to her studio and by having concrete it will support her studio in strength. To help further I have included several spheres on outer face of the very top part of her studio. By putting this on there it will show the relationship of these elements on the outcome of her work of skull made from glass beads. By placing these two elements I thought that it will help to show the influence to Fiona Hall to come up with the work she has produced. I have placed studio for Fiona Hall underground to give real darkness to her studio. Since her work is related to skull it reminds me of death and tomb , being in darkness and underground. The stairs inside her studio is going in a circle but towards the centre to portray the infinity, because even though we are dead our life will be infinity, because no one knows what will happen to us when we are dead, we could be in a different world, or in heaven, or hell, no one knows. The material I have used for her studio and the stairs are glass to represent the endless and also to show the image on the semi-sphere. Also I have used spiral shape texture that I have drawn to make harmony to my intention of relating deeply to outcome of Fiona Hall's work of 'Understorey.' The texture also looks like endless, infinity, keep sinking towards the centre.
